It goes without saying that only fresh, high-quality products are used in the kitchen of the gourmet luxury hotel near Seefeld, which has been awarded with mutiple times. Chef de Cuisine Mario Döring and his team primarily use regional products for their culinary creations: plenty of different, especially flavoursome herbs even come from the hotel’s kitchen garden.

Freshness and best enjoyment from the Tyrolean mountains

The kitchen at the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol is supplied with vegetables and dairy products by domestic farmers. Fish and venison also come from the surroundings. The fresh, clear mountain air, the perfect mix of hours of sunshine and rain and the diligence of the Tyrolean farmers guarantee products of the highest quality. These high-value products are turned into unique treats in the kitchen.

Everything is home made at the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol: from the crisp bread to the jam to regional specialties such as Schlutzkrapfen and Tiroler Gröstl.

Cooking with herbs: the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol herb garden

Up here on the mountain, at an altitude of 1,300 m, all plants develop a special kind of intensity. Cool nights, sunny days and fresh air allow particularly versatile flavours to unfurl. The different herbs in the herb garden include thyme, rosemary and lovage, as well as exotic strawberry mint and ginger root.

The herb garden provides herbs that artfully refine dishes while pleasing both palate and stomach for eight months a year. They are harvested in the morning to ensure that the full flavour of the plant is preserved.
